Starship Troopers Sergeant’s Cap

German Division Edition – a one-of-a-kind piece from our ranks

A piece of German Division history for your collection: this used cap was converted from an original Bundeswehr mountain troops cap into a Starship Troopers replica, German Division Edition. There is one cap only, in size 58. You are buying the actual cap shown in the product photographs, not an interchangeable item from a production run.

If you follow our appearances and activities on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, you will recognise the uniform look of the Starship Troopers German Division. This cap belongs to that fan tradition: a distinctive German Division collectible or an addition to your Starship Troopers cosplay.

Important distinction: This is not a cap used in the film “Starship Troopers” (1997), not an original film prop and not a screen-used costume item. It is a replica inspired by the film design and, at the same time, an original, individually converted piece of the Starship Troopers German Division. German Division provenance does not imply an official film licence.

The identifying detail: G instead of 6

The front carries two high-quality embroidered patches: the Mobile Infantry insignia (MI patch) and the diamond-shaped G patch below it. The G inside the circle stands for “German Division”.

This is the distinctive detail that separates our edition from the familiar film design. The latter uses a 6 inside the circle, representing the 6th Mobile Infantry. On this cap, the G clearly identifies the German Division version.

Both iron-on patches were heat-applied and additionally stitched to the cap at their vulnerable pointed corners, helping to prevent the edges from lifting unintentionally. The close-up photograph shows the embroidery and the finished front insignia.

Original cap, size and materials

The base is a grey Bundeswehr mountain troops cap with a short peak and side ventilation eyelets. Its surviving interior labels provide the following information:

• Manufacturer of the original cap: Albert Kempf KG, Uniformmützenfabrik, Ödmiesbach 23; bearing the “Alkero” trademark.
• Size: 58, corresponding to a nominal head circumference of approximately 58 cm. The actual fit of this used cap is what matters.
• Outer fabric: 55% polyester (PES), 45% wool (WO).
• Lining: 100% cotton (CO).
• Sweatband: leather, identified as genuine leather on the label.

The manufacturer information refers to the original Bundeswehr cap. It does not mean that the uniform cap factory manufactured or licensed the Starship Troopers conversion.

Condition and individual signs of use

Used, with visible wear and signs of age. The photographs show creasing and pressure marks in the fabric, wear on the peak and leather sweatband, and abrasion or partially illegible areas of the interior markings. The handwritten previous-owner inscription inside appears to read “Tunat”. It is visible in the photographs and provides another individual identifying detail of this particular cap. This spelling is our reading of the handwriting.

These marks form part of this particular one-off piece. Please examine the overall, side and interior photographs when assessing its condition. It is not offered as unworn or like new.

Care instructions on the interior label

The crossed-out care symbols mean: do not wash, do not bleach, do not iron, do not dry clean and do not tumble dry. These instructions also apply to the converted cap. The heat-applied, additionally stitched patches do not make it safe to iron or wash the complete cap again.

What is included and shipping

You will receive one used Sergeant’s Cap, German Division Edition, size 58, including both attached front patches. Only one available.

The mannequin head, uniform and any other accessories shown in the wearing examples are for presentation only and are not included. The wearing examples show the actual cap on a mannequin.
